The RotorHook™ is able to handle the main shaft and bearing for replacement or repair. Longitudinal movements will be performed by a trolley that can be pushed out hydraulically over the boom. The RotorHook™ lifting arrangement allows for accurate lifting operations and allows for a minor side shift to help align the rotor shafts in its normal operating condition. The RotorHook™ will be lifted and installed onto the nacelle by the GenHook™.
Like the GenHook™ and the BoxHook™, the RotorHook™ is also designed as a Zero-Emission-Crane™. Fully powered by either the WTG auxiliary power circuit or the battery of the RotorHook™. During hoisting operations, the crane has a hybrid power supply. During lowering, energy is regenerated to charge the battery pack. Any superfluous energy can also be fed back into the power circuit of the WTG.
The RotorHook™ is supplied in two standard ISO 40ft containers.
